Pumpkin Pie Blizzard

Who needs to get a Dairy Queen Blizzard that’s plump full of sugar –  when you can make your own equally delicious health versions at home?! Give this a try and see if you ever crave DQ again 🙂



1 cup cottage cheese

3/4 cup pumpkin

1 tsp cinnamon

1 tsp pumpkin pie spice (or apple pie spice)

1 tbs stevia

1 – 1 1/2 cups ice

1/2 -1 cup unsweetened almond milk

1/2 tsp maple or vanilla extract

Optional: t/2 tsp xantham gum (makes thick and creamy!)

Pie Crust Butes

2 tbs almond flour

2 tbs oat flour (grind up oats in blender)

Dash of salt

1 tsp stevia

1/2 tbs low sugar maple syrup or honey


1. PIe Crust Bites: In a small bowl, combine the ingredients for the pie crust, and stir until a dough forms, adding the maple syrup last (start with 1/2 tbs, and if the dough is a bit dry, add an additional 1/2 tbs, and stir until dough comes together). If you are enjoying your blizzard right away, you can simply roll the dough into as many balls as you’d like, depending on how small you want them, and making enough to divide into two even servings,

2. Blizzard: Place all of the ingredients for the blizzard in the blender. Blend until thick and creamy, (adding just enough almond milk to get things moving in the blender, but not too much, or it will turn out more like a shake, and you want it a bit thicker than that, but if it does get too thin, just add more ice.) Pour blizzard into two glasses, and stir in the pie crust bites. Enjoy with someone you love! 🙂
