What about Protein Powders?

A convenient way to add protein to any shake, oatmeal, baking goods is a whey protein supplement.. However, not all whey protein supplements are created equal. Here are a few tips to ensure that a whey protein is of the highest quality, and most beneficial for the body.

  • Choose a protein supplement that is derived from whey protein isolate, not concentrate.  This is the purest form of whey protein.

  • A cold-processed cross-flow micro filtered whey protein isolate that comes from farm-raised, pasture-grazed, grass-fed cows not treated with the synthetic bovine growth hormone rBGH will provide you with all the benefits and none of the chemicals

  • Avoid protein supplements that contain soy products of any kind – these are poor quality and can impact hormone levels.

  • Check the nutrition label to ensure that you are getting at least 20 grams of protein, and less than 3 grams of sugar per serving.  Good protein supplements are around 100 calories per serving and contain less than 10 ingredients (the purest products contain less than 5 ingredients).  Look for products sweetened with stevia.

  • Check out Trumi Trainings own Naked Whey Protein Powder. It is clean, low sugar, and made from grass-fed cattle. Stir it into any shake, baked good, oatmeal, bar, etc.
