Supersizing the Fun not the Calories

The Super Bowl is next Sunday. It’s a day when people come together to drink beer, eat dip, and sit in front of the TV for hours. These activities have one thing in common: they lead to a massive intake of calories.

According to the Calorie Control Council, the average armchair quarterback will consume 1,200 calories and 50 grams of fat just from snacking during the Super Bowl.

But, if you still want to have chili and appetizers during the game, there’s a way to trim down at least some of those calories. Try these healthy Super Bowl recipes from Whole Foods:

  • Lentil chili

  • Stuffed potato skins

  • Spicy cheddar-jack cauliflower dip

  • Green pea guacamole
