Volunteering has always been good for the soul. But did you know it’s also good for your health?
A new study done by Corporation for National and Community Service “reveals that charitable work literally makes the heart grow stronger. Individuals with coronary artery disease who participate in volunteer acitivties after suffering a heart attack report a reduction in despair and depression…which in turn adds years to life.”
It doesn’t take a large amount of people’s time to volunteer. Research shows that just volunteering 100 hours per year can create positive changes. Which equals to a whopping 2 hours per week. That’s nothing! If giving back is good for your health and soul…why wouldn’t you do it?
